Eve’s Holiday Gift Guide - Perfect Presents for the Jewelry Lovers on Your List

I have a habit throughout the year of cataloguing unique gifts when I see them, and I am always on the hunt for fun and original ideas for friends and family who have a passion for jewelry equal to my own. Of course I’m biased, but there is no better gift for a woman than a stunning piece of jewelry. This year, however, I came across some great items that any jewelry enthusiast would be just as happy with!

Here are some ideas for all of the jewelry lovers on your list.

Two New Jewelry Bibles

According to a recent issue of The Ritz Carlton Magazine, there were a number of notable book releases this year fit for jewelry aficionados, a great gift that you can be sure they will appreciate for years to come.

The Impossible Collection of Jewelry by Vivienne Becker ($695) chronicles the most spectacular jewels and milestones of jewelry design over the last century. Jewelry historian Becker has done a superb job of putting together this volume, which includes a mention of Maria Felix, the owner of the first Ashoka diamond.

Another fabulous jewelry tome released this year is Suzanne Syz: Art Jewels by Ruth Peltason ($150). Syz is a Zurich born designer who began creating unique, contemporary jewelry in the mid 1990s, quickly gaining a following of some of the most fashionable women in the world. Syz’s one-of-a-kind creations are catalogued in this beautifully illustrated book.

The Perfect Jewelry Box

I’ve been a fan of Aerin Lauder’s lifestyle brand AERIN since it launched last year. Her taste is sophisticated and timeless and it shows through all of her products. I’ve been in the market for a new jewelry box for a while and this one is just perfect (hint to my husband if he is reading this!)

Rings, Rings, Rings

The thing that I love most about diamond cocktail rings are that they can really show a woman’s true personality. Many times clients will come to me after being married for a while and confess that they played it safe by opting for a more simple, conservative engagement ring or wedding band. I always suggest adding a cocktail ring to their collection that may be more whimsical or fun. Here is a selection of rings that I love that would make perfect gifts this year (just find out her ring size first, of course).

Hit the Road

Protecting one’s precious baubles is essential, especially if they visit several different time zones each month. You can’t go wrong with anything from Smythson of Bond Street, and their large jewelry roll from their Mara collection in calf skin is just exquisite. Personalize it for an extra special touch.

The Show Stopper

The first minaudière is attributed to Charles Arpels in the 1930s. I’ve been wanting William Goldberg to make one for quite some time, and this year we finally created the first ever ASHOKA® minaudière, totaling over 39 carats and set in solid 18k white gold. Talk about the ultimate gift for a fine jewelry lover!
