Sneak Peak: Fall Diamond Trends

When it comes to jewelry for fall/winter 2013, it’s all about versatility. The collections in New York, London, Milan and Paris featured an eclectic mix of fine and fashion pieces that can seamlessly take you from day to night, dressy to casual. Here’s a quick round up of our favorite versatile diamond looks of the season.

Diamond Chains

Chains were a major focal point for Chanel’s fall/winter collection this year. A diamond chain (or diamonds by the yard as they are also called) are one of the best jewelry investments you can make. Typically, diamond chains are used as a layered necklace or sometimes draped as low as your naval in a single strand.

However, Chanel pushed the limit by featuring chains as hair ornaments, belts and bracelets, giving us some new ideas for how we can do the same with our ever so practical diamonds by the yard.

Deco Diamond Drops

Although oversize drops have been one of the biggest jewelry trends since the height of red carpet season earlier in the year, there will be a shift to more subtle, art deco inspired earrings for fall.

Deco diamond drops can be just as versatile as a classic pair of studs, and those with a deco twist are a refreshing alternative. Wear them to the office with a smart blazer and heels or with an evening gown and the perfect chignon.

Layered Cocktail Rings

Dior’s metallic palette for fall/winter 2013 was accented by a bevy of rings worn on multiple fingers. And, we’re not talking stackable bands...designer Raf Simmons showed bold, eye popping rings that (truth be told) are probably not a practical look off the runway, but still offer great inspiration for us to interpret in our own way this season.

Oversized Cuffs

For his fall/winter collection, Giambatitsta Valli paired raw, metal cuffs with evening gowns. Dramatic cuffs have stood the test of time because they really work in so many style situations - the sole accessory for a wool shift dress or worn gladiator style (one on each wrist) with a funky pair of boots and faded jeans.
