In 1973, when a burgeoning diamantaire named William Goldberg established William Goldberg Diamond Corporation, he didn’t yet know that his promising business would one day change an entire industry. Or perhaps he did.
Known as Bill to many, Willy to others, he was an unforgettable character, recognized for his imposing stature, long white hair, and thunderous voice. Though William Goldberg, the business, could never have existed without Bill Goldberg, the man, the reverse could just as easily be argued: One simply could not exist without the other. That’s because the story most often told of Bill Goldberg is his passion for diamonds. “He saw a diamond as a work of art.” “He believed it was wrong to cheat a diamond of its beauty.” “In his hands, a stone became extraordinary.”
THE LEGACY CONTINUES
